Mural Project
A Symbol of Resilience & Community
At Rising Tide Residences, we believe that small acts of creativity and collaboration can have a huge impact. Our recent mural project in the back courtyard is a perfect example of that.
The goal was simple: to cover up an unsightly wall and transform it into something beautiful and meaningful… but on a tight budget. Our community stepped up, and with donated paint and borrowed tools, we began.
The first phase of the mural started with a bold pink base coat. The pink wasn’t a deliberate choice—it was the color that was donated in abundance, and we embraced it wholeheartedly!
Phase two turned the project into a community event, where we mixed up borrowed paint to create a palette of bright, eye-catching colors. Together, with friends, neighbors, residents, and agency partners, we painted bold stripes over the pink background, adding a vibrant touch to our courtyard.
The final phase of the mural brought everyone together to paint the symbolic California poppies. These poppies, outlined in black, represent resilience and beauty—just like our community. Poppies grow almost anywhere, thriving in even the harshest conditions, and they’ve become a fitting symbol for the individuals we serve and the strength they show every day.
The mural now stands as a vibrant testament to our community’s spirit. It’s a backdrop that will be used in future events, photos, and marketing, showing the personality and character of Rising Tide Residences. It’s more than just a piece of art; it’s a reflection of the people who made it happen and the bonds we share.
Thank you to everyone who contributed time, resources, and energy to this project. It’s a reminder that even small events, like painting a wall, can create big ripples of change. Our courtyard is now filled with color, energy, and a little extra strength—just like our community.
