Sales & Marketing Associate

Rising Tide Residences provides “second chance” shared and supportive housing for people who are traditionally locked out of the brutal Bay Area rental market. Our mission is to offer dignified, stable housing and a pathway forward for people seeking to level up and achieve their goals.

Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid preferred, Remote possible)

Employment Type: Part time, Mid- to Entry-Level, with mentorship and support

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and mission-driven Sales & Marketing Associate to help expand our outreach to agencies, partners, and prospective residents. This role is ideal for someone early in their career—what matters most is good, clear communication skills, willingness to learn, and a strong desire to contribute to a meaningful mission. Mentorship, support, and hands-on training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Outreach (Primary Focus)

  • Conduct cold calls and outreach to social service agencies, partner organizations and prospective residents.

  • Follow up on incoming leads and inquiries.

  • Help create, test, and refine sales scripts for different audiences.

  • Track all outreach activities, conversations, and progress in our CRM/database.

  • Generate weekly or monthly outreach reports to track progress and success rates.

  • Serve as an authentic representative of Rising Tide’s mission, values, and approach.

Marketing Support (Seondary / Based on Skills & Interest)

  • Assist with developing sales messaging and marketing materials.

  • Help with social media posts, email campaigns, and outreach flyers.

  • Support advertising efforts to attract new residents and agency partners.

  • Gather stories, testimonials, and success outcomes (with permission).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Some experience in sales. Offering support, mentoring and development for the right candidate.

  •   Strong communication skills—comfortable talking to people by phone, email, or in person.

  • Reliable, organized, and willing to track work in a database or spreadsheet.

  • Interest in sales, outreach, communications, or nonprofit/housing work.

  • Alignment with Rising Tide’s values of dignity, respect, second chances, and accountability.

Preferred (but not required):

  • Lived experience with reentry, housing instability, or system involvement.

  • Familiarity with CRM tools, Google Sheets, Airtable, or similar software.

  • Interest or experience in marketing, design, or social media.

Training & Mentorship Provided

  • Guidance on outreach scripts, systems, and processes.

  • Regular check-ins with supervisors for coaching and skill development.

  • Exposure to real-world sales, agency partnerships, and social impact operations.

  • Opportunity to grow into a permanent role with increased responsibility.

Compensation & Hours

  • $20/hr to start, $25 after 12 weeks

  • Part-time position, estimated 5-10 hrs/week to start

  • Flexible schedule
